Cowling Title Company was founded in 1990 in Ashdown, Arkansas by the late Ken Cowling, who served as President and CEO. What began as a single office grew into multiple locations across Arkansas, built on a reputation for professionalism, reliability, and timely service.

Following Ken Cowling's passing in 2020, his nephews, Eric and Scott Cowling, assumed ownership and leadership of the company. They continue his legacy by upholding the same standards of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to customer care that have defined Cowling Title for more than three decades.

Title insurance protects you from financial loss if someone challenges your ownership of the property. Unlike other insurance that protects against future events, title insurance protects against problems that already exist in the property's history—like recording errors, unknown heirs, or hidden liens—that weren't discovered before you bought.
Owner's title insurance protects you, the property buyer, for as long as you or your heirs own the property. Lender's title insurance protects your mortgage company's interest in the property. If you have a mortgage, lender's coverage is typically required. Owner's coverage is optional but strongly recommended—it's a one-time premium for lifetime protection.
Most residential closings can be completed within 30–45 days from order placement. Commercial transactions or properties with complex title issues may take longer. We work to move as quickly as possible while ensuring every detail is handled correctly.
Our title search often uncovers issues before closing—that's the point. Common problems include unpaid liens, clerical errors, or missing documentation. We work to resolve these issues, which might involve obtaining lien releases, correcting records, or negotiating with other parties.
